This Is Why

November 6, 2018

It is 11:35 PM and I can’t sleep. I am listening to Bence Peter’s piano cover of “Africa” by Toto. It is sweltering inside our room and aside from Bence Peter, I can also hear the annoying whirring of my pink and dusty electric fan. I just finished watching this Japanese film called “One Week Friends” starring Kento Yamazaki and it was a nice movie. I like it. It makes me wonder if I can ever be that kind of friend because I suck at friendships.

It is now 12:49 AM and I may or may not have cried a bit thinking about friendships. Is it normal to feel insecure about your friendship with some people? Huhu. Why am I like this?

ANYWAY! I can already hear my roommate snoring. There they are, off to dreamland while here I am, thinking of making a new room banner. I want to make one saying “semper ad meliora“. It is a Latin phrase meaning “always towards better things” or something along those lines. I can’t remember where I read it but it stuck with me ever since and I immediately decided that I want to live by that phrase. It is a lovely phrase, isn’t it?

Also, isn’t it weird how art can inspire art? Sorry, I still have hangover from watching Bohemian Rhapsody. What a beautiful film! I wouldn’t call myself a Queen fan but I know their music because duh! Who doesn’t? For some weird reason though, I have never heard anything about their song called “Don’t Stop Me Now” until Bence Peter made a piano cover of it around April last year. Apparently, the song is considered to be the happiest song on Earth. And yep. That was according to Science. Have you heard it? I mean, Bence Peter’s cover of the song. Give it a listen! You’ll enjoy it. I definitely enjoyed watching the Youtube video of him playing it because you can see that he was having so much fun in the piano. Art inspiring art.

Oh wait. Is music an art? It is, right? Aah, I guess I have to read up on that.

So yeah, after watching Bohemian Rhapsody, I started listening to “Don’t Stop Me Now” a lot more and I am falling in love with that song more and more. I love the imagery of the lyrics so much that it makes me want to create something based on it. I don’t even know how to execute this idea hovering in my mind but damn. I love how this song is inspiring me to create.

Again, art inspiring art.

It is 2:05 AM and I still can’t sleep. I am listening to Bence Peter’s piano cover of “Human Nature” by Michael Jackson. It is still sweltering inside our room and aside from Bence Peter, I can still hear the annoying whirring of my pink and dusty electric fan. And my roommate’s snores. It’s been hours since I finished watching this Japanese film called “One Week Friends” starring Kento Yamazaki and I still think that it was a nice movie. I like it. It is still making me wonder if I can ever be that kind of friend because as I have said, I suck at friendships.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is the reason why you should remind me not to drink coffee again. I just want to sleep.
