Art Dump: July 2018

Hullo! Another month is coming to an end. We are already entering the month which is dreaded by most, August. I don’t know why August got its reputation as the month nataghirap“. Do you guys know the reason behind it?

Anyway, hello again! Haha. I have quite a lot of time now to make art but I kind of decided to spend a part of it to just really take a rest because the everyday city traffic is seriously taking its toll on my body. I’m just so tired all the time.

Here’s three artworks I made this July. Hope you’ll enjoy looking at them.

Arches Hotpressed | W&N Cotman

I haven’t really liked Ylona Garcia from the start. I mean how can I like her when I didn’t even know her. I don’t really watch TV so I pardon me if I don’t really know much about what’s going on in the world of showbiz. Actually, I think I first saw her on Candy Magazine. But the more I check her out, the more I grow to like her. She has so much talent and she’s quite underrated in my opinion.

Anyway, I don’t know why I found it hard to work on Arches this time. It was so weird. It felt like the paint and the paper didn’t like each other that much. I don’t know what happened. I’ll try to work on my Arches journal again this coming August. Hopefully, it’ll end up well.

Elio and Oliver! Oh my God. I’m inlove! I’m just totally in love with Elio and Oliver of Call Me By Your Name. Sorry, I’m kind of in an obsessed mode with the book and the movie. Such a bittersweet story. I’m so soft for Elio and Oliver. I hope I’m not the only one in here who loves them both.

It’s my first time to use Canson XL Aquarelle and I really like it. I love how it holds water so well. It’s so easy to lift paint too.

Timothée Chalamet is an artist whom I think everyone should watch out for. Such a talented young actor. I’m really so excited to see him portray Laurie’s character in the remake of Little Women. Plus, he’s portraying Nic Sheff in the movie Beautiful Boy. I’m excited to see more of Elio, I mean Timmy!

I kind of abused the paper around the eyelid area and surprisingly it was still okay. It can take a beating! Excited to do more experiments using Canson XL Aquarelle. Maybe I’ll try florals on it.

I’m so glad I have Saturdays and Sundays off. I get to spend the whole of Saturday sleeping and then Sunday on making art. My schedule at work though is kind of weird. I will be reporting in Makati (M-W-F) and then in Mandaluyong (T-TH). Anyone know a place in Makati where I can move? I’m getting kinda fed up with the terrible traffic at Kalayaan every night.

So, what do you think? Do you like the artworks I made this month? Let me know in the comments below!

    1. Ateeee!

Haha. Bale, very near RCBC Plaza po yung place of work ko. Tawid lang pa-post office.
