Art Dump: February 2018

Okay. This is not much of an Art Dump because I haven’t made that much art this month. Haha. I have a couple of unfinished artworks at home and I cannot make time to finish them just yet. Medyo layas kasi ako this February. Haha.

Social Life = 1

Art Life = 0

It’s proving hard to balance everything! Sunday is really the only day I can make art and spend time with family and friends and do all the other extra-curricular activities I want to do like cleaning my room and organizing my pile of TBRs and already finished books. Also, Sunday is the only day I can sleep in my beloved room. So yeah. It’s really quite a challenge. Okay. Enough ranting.

Anyway here are the only three artworks that I was able to finish this February.

Reims Cathedral | Reims, France

Gothic architecture never fails to amaze me. I made this on three consecutive lunchbreaks in the office on a 4″x6″ watercolor paper. I remember trying to make this on a 7″x10″ paper last year but I was not able to finish it because I got overwhelmed with the size. Haha. I’m happy that I got to finish this one now.

I saw the photo I used as reference of this on Pinterest and I was so drawn to the cool tones of the photo. Unfortunately, I was not able to recreate it. My color palette still leans towards warmer tones. I seriously need to do more color studies.

Minor Basilica of St. Martin of Tours | Taal, Batangas

I decided to make an art series of old Filipino Churches because I noticed that I’ve been making only foreign architectural beauties. I wanted to showcase the beauty of our own churches naman para masaya. Love your own ba. And this is my first out of the nine churches I’m planning to create. Haha. I’m planning to finish the series before Easter Sunday but I’m not really sure if I will be able to do it. I will still try though. Any suggestion guys?

So, haha. I will try to make up for it this March by making art on the coming holidays. Hopefully I will be able to do it.

I also wish to be assigned in a different project already and hopefully a nearer one so I can go home everyday. Haha. Or just really a new project so I could find a new place to stay, some place where I can have a space for art. Nyeaaam. I don’t want to find a new place right now because I might be sent to another project all of a sudden. Sayang yung pang-advance sa rent. Hurrr. Struggle is real.

    1. Luh! Thank you! Sanay kasi ako na nakaka more than five na nagagawa sa isang buwan kaya feeling ko ang konti ng nagawa ko ngayon. Haha. Very nice naman na may alternative creative outlet ka.
